About Edelweiss Construction
BUILT ON A BETTER CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE
Edelweiss Construction was built on the belief that homeowners deserve a better construction experience—one defined by clear communication, realistic planning, and quality craftsmanship. We approach every project with the same level of care, whether it’s a single-room remodel, a coordinated multi-room update, an ADU, Custom Addition or a full custom home.
Our goal is simple: to help homeowners move forward with confidence, clarity, and trust.
EXPERIENCE THAT SHAPED OUR APPROACH
Owner Chris Flury brings over 35 years of experience in custom home building and remodeling. His appreciation for quality construction began early, working alongside his father on the remodel of their family’s 100-year-old farmhouse—an experience that shaped his respect for older homes and the importance of thoughtful, detailed work.
After earning several degrees from Portland State University, Chris built a well-rounded background in construction, planning, and communication before founding Edelweiss Construction. Over the years, his experience has reinforced one core belief: successful projects start long before construction begins.
A PROCESS BUILT FOR CLARITY AND ACCURACY
One of the key ways Edelweiss Construction delivers a better remodeling experience is through a planning method known as a Feasibility Study—a process Chris helped develop while serving on the Remodelers Council of the Portland Home Builders Association.
Unlike traditional “estimate-based” approaches, our Feasibility Study is designed to provide homeowners with the most accurate project costing possible before construction begins.
Here’s how it works:
-
Our full project team—including key trade partners—conducts a single, coordinated pre-build walkthrough of your home
-
Each subcontractor reviews the space firsthand, gathers accurate measurements, and understands their specific role in the project
-
Homeowners then make design selections such as flooring, cabinetry, countertops, plumbing and electrical fixtures, and finishes (windows, doors, trim etc.)
-
With real selections, accurate measurements, and shared project understanding, we develop a detailed proposal
This approach allows us to present a clear, well-defined project cost upfront—helping minimize surprises and create alignment before work begins.
While unforeseen conditions can occasionally arise during construction (such as hidden damage or outdated code requirements), our process significantly reduces uncertainty and protects homeowners from unexpected costs whenever possible.
INTEGRITY, COMMUNICATION, AND CRAFTSMANSHIP
We believe integrity in construction starts with honesty—about costs, timelines, and expectations.
Our clients value:
-
Transparent planning and budgeting
-
Clear communication throughout the project
-
Skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail
-
Respect for their home and daily life
-
A collaborative, client-focused approach
We don’t rely on vague estimates or rushed proposals. Instead, we invest time upfront to ensure clarity, accuracy, and trust.
ROOTED IN THE COMMUNITY
Chris is a lifelong Oregonian and, along with his wife of over 35 years, has raised a family rooted in the Portland community. Edelweiss Construction remains committed to serving homeowners with the same care and integrity that has guided the company for decades.
